Nap & Paint Struggles
Man, it was such a struggle to get Jackson down for a nap today. I couldn't believe it. I tried for 4 hours, then he finally fell asleep. Well, I guess it wasn't exactly 4 hours....but I have been trying since noon and he only just fell asleep.
I tried his normal routine, didn't work. I tried lying in bed with him, didn't work. Tried popping in a movie, didn't work. I tried a pack n' play, didn't work. I tried rocking him, didn't work. So, back in the pack n' play he went because I needed to get some stuff done before sissy woke up....and guess what? He fell asleep. Little booger.
At what age did your child(ren) stop taking a regular nap? My mom said that my little brother stopped at around 16 months. But, I think that is just too darn early!
Painting our apartment last weekend was hard work. It took FOREVER! Well, I guess not forever, we did finish it up in 2 days....but, it was a long 2 days. We started painting the kitchen and bathroom while the babies were sleeping (nap and bed time) then, my Mom took them for the day on Sunday so we could do the living room and their bedroom.
It looks great, and I might post pictures.....you know, whenever I get around to it.
Do you know what I just realized? I miss Shania Twain songs. Like seriously. I am gonna have to dig out her cd, blow off the dust (because, really, who uses cd's anymore), and pop it into the dvd player. I have no idea what made me just think of that....but, now I have "Man, I feel like a woman" stuck in my head. Thanks Shania!
Can you believe Lindsay Lohan violated her probation? Well, I guess I can believe it...but, I never expected it to be so soon after being released from rehab/jail. What is she thinking?!?!
Well, I guess that is about all I have. Not much planned for the weekend, other than a family reunion (which I am not really looking forward to). Hopefully I can get some good snuggles in with my babies over the next few days, they are growing up too quickly.
I hope that you have a fabulous weekend!

Aah, Sweet Release
This post is going to be about anything and everything. I have a lot on my mind, and I need a place to just release it. :) Aah, I am starting to feel better all ready. :)
My sweet baby Ady has started sucking her thumb. Well, I guess it is more of a "holds her thumb in her mouth" kind of thing. Lol. It is sweet, I just hope she doesn't start to do it all the time. I don't want a thumb-sucker. Lol. A habit that is attached to your body is a hard habit to break. I would much rather her become attached to a pacifier than her thumb. Oh well, she will do what she wants to do and we will deal with it when the time is right. :)
Jackers has been saying all sorts of new (and interesting) words. Last Saturday, when we where are the park, he said motorcycle. Jack can say: please "peezz", thanks "tanks", up, down, Mom, Dad, Grandpa "grr pa", Grandma "and ma", trash "tash", sis, Kenna "ken ah", Tim (probably his favorite word), motorcycle, cat, dog, bath, sips (sippy cup), tea (he loves sissy's tea pot and cups), and I am sure there are more....but, I can't think of them right now.
I just realized this morning that it is only about 2 months until my children turn one and two. Seriously, I know I have asked this before, but where does the time go? Ever since I started dating Z time has flown by.
Life truly passes in a blink of an eye, and I strongly encourage you to not miss out on all those "little moments". Those "little moments" are the ones that are going to stick with you for the rest of your life. You know that you will always have that image of your babies first steps.....the sound of their first word rolling off their tongue.....and the way you felt the very first time they said "mama". Those will always be there, and will be the memories you treasure. ;o)
Last week (Thursday) my husband sent an e-mail to his boss (well, the boss above his boss) and asked him if he would be available to chat with him. On the phone. Not even asking for an in person conversation (which would be nearly impossible, but you know what I mean), just a phone call. Guess what? He still hasn't responded. That is just ridiculous, in my opinion. Everywhere I have worked (you know, before I started working even harder raising my children) they have a 24-hr max for a response time. I suppose it doesn't apply to the boss. Ugh. It is still annoying. Do you want to know something funny? One of the things Hubs wanted to talk to him about was communication. How fitting. Yeah. I am annoyed, and Hubs is thinking about looking for another job. Which really sucks, because we both like his current job.....and 99% of the time the company that he works for. He just has a couple of things that he wants to get off his chest, and they are not giving him the opportunity to do so.
I am thinking about doing a "photo shoot" later this afternoon of my adorable children! .....in their Chicago Bears outfits. It will be so cute! I can't wait. I just have to be patient, my kids are currently sleeping. :)
Then, I get the privilege of watching my 2 1/2 month old cousin for a couple hours. I am so excited. He is so sweet, and I love itty bitty babies (well, I love all babies...but, I have a special place in my heart for the teeny tiny!)
Well, I think that I have tortured you long enough. I hope that you enjoy your Wednesday, and I truly hope all is well with you and your family! :)

My Baby Girl
On Sunday my baby girl with be 6 months old.

I am in denial.

Over the weekend, my Mom suggested we raise up her walker because she can more than touch flat footed, I didn't want to.

There is no way that she is big enough to be on level two of the walker.

Nope, not a chance.

But, sadly. She is.

My Ady is growing up.

I am afraid to blink because whenever I do she gets older.
Do you know of a magic pill which slows down growth?
My baby is quickly turning into a toddler, and I can hardly stand it.

Time for another one! ;o)
Yeah, right. Wishful thinking.

SO BIG!
As many of you know, we have been trying to put Ady to bed in her own crib....in the kids' room. (Have no idea what I am talking about? You are missing out, follow me on Twitter @jenniferovery) But, it has not been going so well.
I was hesitant to even try because I would absolutely hate to have both kiddos up in the middle of the night, but Ady has been sleeping so well we thought we would give it a try Tuesday night.
Tuesday = HUGE FAILURE. Ady cried the whole time, and kept waking Jackers up. So, she got her way and slept in our bedroom (in a pack n' play).
Wednesday = A little better. We got both of the kids asleep, but Ms. Ady woke up around 11. We laid her down in her pack n' play, and she slept through the night.
Thursday = Perfect! Or so we thought. We got both of the kids asleep, with NO ISSUES! But, at 2:15am Ady woke up....for no reason. I rocked her, changed her diaper, gave her a bottle, and she drifted off to sleep around 3:30am. But, she was up again at 5:30am and 6:30am.
This Mama is tired.
I am not sure I have the energy to try it again tonight, but we will have to see. Do any of you have any tricks for getting a 5 month old to sleep through the night? She sleeps fabulously, by herself, in our bedroom...but, not in her bedroom.
Moving on.....
Jack is usually the shy, silent type. But, we have been trying to encourage his speech as much as possible. He will sign more (which also means please....be careful when you are teaching this to your kiddos :)) all day long, but rarely says anything other than "da". Well, he babbles....but, I have no clue as to what he is saying.

So, today. Instead of just giving him a goldfish cracker. I made him say cracker. He whined for about 20 minutes about not getting the cracker easily....but then he said it! YEAH! Go Jackers :). Cracker is a more difficult word than Mama, right? Hmm....stubborn, eh, sweet, little boy!
I am sorry about the video. It was shot with my phone, and I didn't even think to rotate the phone. Oh well...you get the idea. I am so proud of my little baby boy!
In other Jacker's news. He is officially off the bottle! It has been 9 days since his last bottle, and he seems to be doing fine.
I am a little concerned that he isn't getting enough calcium...because he really dislikes drinking milk from a sippy cup (or regular cup). But, I have been upping his cheese/yogurt intake to hopefully compensate for the decrease in milk consumption. It will all work out in the end, any maybe I will eventually get him to drink milk out of a sippy.
Well, that's what new in my life as a SAHM. What about you?

New Baby!
Sorry it has been an ETERNITY since I last posted. Things are crazy around here, and have no signs of slowing down until after the holidays.
On Monday, Nov. 16th (one day after my little Jack turned 1!) our beautiful baby girl, Madelyn Grace, was born. She is perfect, and we couldn't ask for a better little family. She was 7lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long. Her big brother isn't quite sure what to think of her, but I am sure they will be best buds in a little while ;o)
Here are pictures from the day after Madelyn was born. Just go to Bella Baby Photography, click View Photos, and enter the password: 1116madelynovery
We celebrated Jack's birthday on Sunday (the 15th) with a lunch at Happy Joe's and a small get together in the evening with cupcakes and ice cream. His "big" birthday party is on Dec. 5th, and I have a lot to do to get ready for it. I can not believe that he is one! My baby boy isn't much of a baby anymore :(
Jacker's started walking last Thursday, and got his forth tooth last Wednesday. He wanted to keep a little bit of the spot light on him. ;o) Haha, our children are such a joy and we couldn't imagine our lives without them.
The other night Zach asked Madelyn, "So, what finger do you have me wrapped around?" It was the cutest thing in the world! He is the best daddy ever! He is such a big help, and I couldn't do it without him.
Sorry for the lack of updates, if you want to know everything that is going on with me....feel free to add me on facebook. Here is the link. Oh, and don't worry, I have more pictures to post soon!
Hope all is well with you, and I hope to be posting again regularly soon.

11 Month Favorites
Our beautiful baby boy is 11 months old. Oh my, time flies. He is about 25 lbs, and changing every single day. Here is my little Jacker's favorite things for this month.
- Standing all on my own, I am even known to take a couple of steps. ;o)
- Growling! I am going to be a dinosaur for Halloween, and I want to scare people. Haha.
- Eating big boy food. I love ANYTHING that Mommy and Daddy are eating. But, I don't necessarily like it when Mommy tries to give me my own.
- I look like such a stud in my winter gear, I love being all cozy....and chewing on my zipper.
- Wearing my Bears Jersey. They have won every weekend I have worn it! Go BEARS!
- Playing with Mommy and Daddy's rings. They are just so "interesting".
- Rubber duckies! I cuddled with Uncle Tim for quite a while yesterday while playing with my ducky.
- Mommy is getting ready for my 1st birthday party, and I love getting into all the party stuff.
- My new room layout, I am so ready to be a big brother!
- I now have three teeth...with another one on the way.

Updated Video
This is Jackson's frustrated face. Haha. He is too cute, you can also hear him "talking". The only words that he says, which are clear to the human ear....haha, are: da da, hi, yeah, and we could have sworn that he said the word lips...but, it could have been wishful thinking. ;o)

Oh My Gosh
This afternoon we laid Jackson down for his nap, and he started playing a little bit. Which is totally fine, as long as he is quiet. Well, I peeked on him and he was sitting up! I still can not get over the fact that he can now get himself from his back/belly to fully sitting up. He is way too big!
Then when I peeked in on him again I watched him turn his mobile on, lay down, yawn, and shut his eyes. It was the cutest thing in the world! I wish that I had a camera all the time, he has so many cute moments that I wish I could capture.
The above pictures are some that I took over the weekend. What a stinkin' cutie!

Our Big 6 Month Old!
Tuesday, May 19, 2009
Sorry Everyone!
I had a realization today, I check other peoples blogs on a regular basis.....and, I often think to myself "Geez, they are slacking. They haven't added a new post in over a week!" Well, I am in the same boat so I have to stop judging other people.
I've been absolutely terrible about updating our blog. Things have been absolutely crazy around here. We are moving in two days! We found another apartment in DeWitt, and I am super excited because it has a dishwasher. I am sure that my friends and family are so sick of hearing me get excited about a dishwasher....but, I truly think it is one of the best inventions ever.
Jack is getting so big! I just can not believe it. I posted his 6 month favorites a few days ago, but I probably won't get any new pictures until after we are settled into our new place. I will be sure to get them done, and to post pictures of our new home.
I hope this blog finds you all well, and we can't wait to have y'all over to our new place after we get everything in it's place. We (well, I) love to entertain! We love you all, god bless!

Big Boy Shopping
We bought Jackson his first pair of shoes (well two pairs) tonight! It was a little frustrating because there are shelves and shelves of girl shoes and half a rack of boys shoes. Haha, maybe the next one will be a girl....then my checkbook would be in trouble! We also picked up these adorable sunglasses, and he really seems to like them. Surprisingly he didn't even try to take them off. I love the shirt that he is wearing in the above picture, thanks Great Grandma!

Beautiful Baby Boy
Sweet baby Jackson has, for the last three nights, slept from 8pm - 5am. He is such a good little boy, and I am so proud of him reaching this milestone.

Oops!
I just realized that I never updated you on the whole eating "real" food thing. We tried for a couple of nights to give Jackson baby cereal in his formula, but it didn't work out well. It did not keep him full for longer or anything, in fact I think that he was up more often. Oh well, we will try it again in a couple of weeks and see if he likes eating it. Two nights ago Jack slept from 12:30a - 7a. I am so proud of the little guy! I can't believe how quickly he is growing up.

Growing up so fast...

My little baby boy is 2 weeks old today! I can hardly believe it. It seems like just the other day I was still pregnant and totally uncomfortable. Jackson and I went to Grandpa's studio for the first time for newborn/Christmas baby pictures. He looked so cute; I can't wait to get the pics in the mail to send out to everyone in their Christmas card. You can get a little preview at http://www.hansenfamilyphotography.com! He was pretty cooperative, but did not want to wake up. We did a few special Chicago Bears shots for Daddy, hopefully he will like them! Now we are just hanging out at Grandpa's house "helping" him hook up his surround sound with the new t.v.
