I Guess He Can Go

Oh my goodness! Today we had a doctor's appointment, and everything looks good. I guess we have no reason to blame my sweatshirt last week because I gained another pound (kill me now), making my total weight gain 18 lbs. My blood pressure was 128/70, so slightly higher than my normal but definitely within a normal range. Jackson's heartbeat is in the high 140s or low 150s, so his heartbeat is slightly higher than his normal, usually in the low 140s. We are measuring 38 cm, and the little guy is still head down. The SHOCKER to me was that Kimberly (midwife) believes Jack is already 7.5 lbs. My initial thought is you have to be kidding me, and you need to get this kid out today! But, that does not seem like a possibility at this point. She claims that I should be able to deliver a 10 lb baby.....yeah, I don't think so. Kimberly does not think that he is going to come into the world any time soon because even though he has dropped quite a bit, he still needs to drop further. Bad news for me, but good news for Zach because he is cleared to go on his hunting trip over the weekend. My luck though, this will be the weekend I deliver anyway and he will miss the whole thing. Kimberly told me that we will not be checking for dilation for about another two weeks unless I believe I am in labor, or if there is some other type of "complication". 14 days lefts, and now I am just praying that he will not be late. As I have said repeatedly I am SO ready to be done with this pregnancy....sorry I do not have better news. Check in next Friday, that is our next doctor's appointment.

Everything Looks Good

37 weeks today! We had our weekly doctor's appointment this morning, and everything went really well. I gained another three pounds (but, I was wearing a sweatshirt....so I blame the weight gain on that, lol), making my total weight gain seventeen pounds. We are measuring 36 cm, which is right about on track. Kimberly (mid-wife) said that about this time you will not gain much in length of the uterus because it sort of "levels off". His heart beat was in the 140s, and he is still head down. Everything looks good, now he just NEEDS to get here (and soon).

Speed up time! Please!

This morning I called "The Group" to check on my test results. Everything looked out with my protein levels, and at this time there is nothing to be concerned about. During pregnancy your protein level should be below 300 and mine was 260. They will continue monitoring me, as usual, at each of my weekly doctor's appointments. It would be nice to be done with pregnancy, but I know that it is best that he stay in there a little longer....if only time could speed up!

In the clear...?

First of all, YEAH!!!! Only 30 days left of this pregnancy. Secondly, I have successfully completed my "24-hour test". Because my protein level was a little high yesterday at my doctor's appointment she ordered a couple of tests. The first was to collect ALL urine for 24-hours. This was a pain in the butt throughout the night, but what can you do. When the 24-hours where up (around 3 o'clock this afternoon) I had to take the sample to Metro Lab in Davenport, and also give a small sample of my blood (I did not know this was going to happen, what a wonderful surprise!). Kim Wiseman (midwife) told me to call into the office tomorrow morning to receive the results, and then I will know what exactly will happen. If the test comes back fine, the pregnancy will progress as normal, but if the test comes back with a high protein level there could be a baby joining us sooner rather than later. From what I have read on-line the only way to relieve pre-eclampcia is to actually deliver the baby. I also read that this condition is the leading cause of death in pregnant women and their unborn child, so needless to say I am a little freaked out about the results. I am sure everything will be fine, but I will be sure to let you know tomorrow morning when I find out the results.

Protein Levels

Today we had a doctor's appointment. Gained a total of 14 pounds so far, and am measuring about 35.5 cm. Everything with Jack is looking pretty good other than they found a small amount of protein in my urine sample. They are afraid that this could be a precursor for pre-eclampsia. So....for the next 24 hours I have to collect all my urine and put it into a "brown jug" and then give it to the lab to be tested. Hopefully everything looks good, which is what they are expecting because my blood pressure has been great throughout my pregnancy. Today it was 120/68, and that is about normal for each of my appointments. Apparently we are now moving to weekly appointments.....we have another one set up for Nov. 6th, so I will be sure to fill you in on all the new information. Yesterday I had Zach take another "belly picture", quite a change since the last one.

Eight Month Doctor Appointment

Today we had a doctor's appointment (at not quite 8 months along) and everything looked great. I have gained a total of 12 lbs, blood pressure good, iron levels, blah blah blah. Now to the baby, Jack is measuring about 32 cm (slightly bigger "normal"), and his heart beat is about 146 beats per minute. We have another appointment set up for the end of October, so I am excited to see what they have to say then. We are getting closer!

Seven Month Doctor Visit

Last Monday we had our 7 month doctor's appointment. Everything looked great! So far I have gained 11 pounds, thank goodness I did not gain as much as my Mom did (65 lbs with me!). Jack is still measuring about one week ahead of schedule at 30 cm. We are getting excited to meet him! It can not come soon enough. We are still trying to come up with ideas for decorating Jack's room, does anyone have any suggestions? Can't wait to hear from you! 67 days left...

First Doctor's Visit

I had a doctors appointment this morning, well really a nurses appointment. I met with a nurse and was given advice, like start prenatal vitamins, etc. I was then sent over to the lab for blood work, confirming that I am indeed pregnant. After my doctors appointment I headed to my parents house to tell my Mom, unfortunately she does not believe me. I offered to take another pregnancy test for her, but she was not interested. Oh well, I guess she will learn soon enough. Above is a picture of the last time I am allowed in the hot tub for a while, :(.
