A Week In Review!

I know, I haven't blogged in a week.  I am sorry.  I just haven't been in the mood.  I haven't been in the mood for a lot of things, but that is another story.

Let me update you are this last week!  My husband and I went to dinner Friday night....and then grocery shopping.  What a fun birthday right?  Lol, it doesn't matter to me because I got to spend the evening with him.  :)

Then, Saturday my sister, Jessica, my Mom, and I went to have pedicures and lunch to help celebrate my 24th birthday.  It was a lot of fun!  I just wish we didn't have to wait for my Mom to run all her errands, next time.... separate cars!

Sunday was a pretty typical day, with the downside of the thermostat in our car stopped working.  Thankfully it was a pretty cheap fix, even though it was difficult to get to (husbands words, not mine....honestly, when was the last time I looked under the hood of a car?  That's part of why I got married!  JK!)

Oh, and the "big" news (only really to me, but I thought I would share), is that Hubs and I started a diet on Saturday.  Basically, he can eat any thing he wants from the fruits and veggie category in between meals, and we have altered our meals to include less carbs and more protein.  I am using Calorie Count (I LOVE IT!) to monitor my caloric intake, and I am averaging about 1000-1200 calories.

The biggest news is that I have quit drinking soda....specifically caffeinated soda.  It has been a full week since I had any caffeine (save a little dark chocolate), and 6 days since I had any sort of soda.  I quit cold turkey, which after reading up on-line is not the way to do it, but oh well.  It was hard, I am not going to lie.  But, the headaches have subsided (2 days ibuprofen free!), and dare I say even the urge to have a soda?

This is a huge accomplishment for me!  I LOVED the bubbly taste of a good soda, but I realize that it isn't good for me.  Not even a little bit.  Does this mean I will never drink soda again?  Probably not, but I am committed to keeping it out of my house.  When I am in a restaurant, or at a party, etc....soda is fair game, but only caffeine free!

Are you on a diet?  What are you doing?  Are you sticking to it?
