30 Day Shred

Janet, over at A Step At A Time, is hosting the 30 Day Shred (you can find more information by clicking over to her web-site).

This is a DVD, created by Jillian Michaels (yes, the scary lady from The Biggest Loser), which allows you to drop the pounds by following her workout plan. The DVD includes 3 different stages, so I am told, that allows you to increase/decrease the intensity of the work out.

Well, here is the description from College Video:

"Three well-structured aero/tone interval workouts led by “The Biggest Loser” trainer. These fast-paced exercises will keep you burning fat as you sculpt muscle. The programs build in intensity; you can start with the intermediate level and work up to the advanced program (it’s tough! — moves like plyo-lunges and traveling pushups). Each workout has three “cycles.” Each cycle starts with three minutes of multi-muscle and isolated strength training. Then it’s two minutes of non-dancy kickbox and athletic-style cardio. That’s followed by one minute of classic abwork (then — no rest — you’ll immediately start a new cycle). Like on the TV show, Jillian is both demanding and supportive."

I am planning on participating in the challenge, however my Target was sold out! So, I ordered the DVD on Amazon a few days ago. According to the tracking, I should have it on the 7th, so I won't be able to start on the 4th....but I will be joining in on the fun.

  1. I LOVE Jazzercise! Been doing it for 8 years now - lost 40 lbs intitially and have been able to keep it off. Yes, even with having twins in the middle of those 8 years! I've tried several things but that's the only one I've been able to stick with and actually enjoy it. :)

    I have a video (yes, video) that I like to but it's ancient (ahem) and I haven't seen it out on DVD. I believe it's Cindy Crawford. (I'm too lazy to run downstairs and check. Hehe)

    You are SO brave for trying The Shred... I'm WAY too chicken!
