August Goals Recap

Okay, so I have really not been looking forward to posting this. We did HORRIBLE this month, and there really is no reason for our lack of payments, etc. I just don't know were all the money went....but, each time I went to pay a bill we didn't have the money in the bank to pay the full amount. We have to get this under control.
  1. Look for ways to increase our monthly income. I started my job the end of this month! This will generate about $94 a month. Yippee!
  2. Get caught up on all bills. Nope, nothing. We are further behind. I am very disappointed in our lack of progress.
  3. Purchase at least half of the necessary items for Baby #2. Nope. We have been saving for this, but so far we have only purchased a pack n' play (with the bassinet attachment) and an infant carseat. We still have a crib, mattress, and new diaper bag to purchase. But, this will be completed by the end of September.
  4. Stock up on non-perishable food items so I can reduce our grocery spending for the month of September. I have been stocking up on items, when they are on sale. But, I think this is part of the reason that I have been going over my intended budget for the week. So, not really working well with the budget. I have to learn that just because the item is on sale does not mean that I need to purchase it.
You can only look towards the future, and not dwell on the past. Next month WILL be better.

  1. Where are you located (don't need specifics) - I am in Katy, TX and we just moved our youngest to a big bed and have a crib we need to sell. Let me know if you're in the area: aussietasker @ gmail dot com

  2. Hi Jenn,
I found your site through Crystal's. Good for you for being on top of your finances and being willing to face where you are.

Saw that you needed to buy a car seat. I don't know where you live, but most states offer free car seats. They aren't fancy, but you can't beat free.

Try googling your state and "free infant seat." :) Good luck!

  3. Hallie,

Thanks so much for the comment! We actually already purchased a new car seat. I wish I had known about this sooner, haha. Maybe for the next baby. Thanks so much for the great tip.

  4. Katy,

I am actually in Iowa. Thanks so much for the offer, but Iowa to Texas is a little far. ;o)

    Thanks! Jenn
