May Weekend

First of all, I shouldn't have waited so long to blog.  I have so much to say.  This might be a LONG post.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had a fantastic weekend.  It was a little busy, but overall a lot of fun.

Friday we went to the mall and got Ms. Ady's ears pierced.  She did wonderfully.   No tears!

While we where at the mall Jackers had his first soft pretzel, and he is in love.  :)

Of course, while we were there I couldn't resist a little shopping.  How can you not shop while at a mall?!?!

After how couple hour trip through the mall, we went to TGI Friday's to see our favorite waitress Brittanie.  It was a blast.

However, we forgot our leftovers in the car.  We were seriously disappointed.  :(

After dinner we picked up the Teenager for a little sleepover.  He just likes to come over and eat our food.

Okay....so on to Saturday.  Zachy had to work, unfortunately.  But, the Teenager and I had a blast with the kiddos....and watching the history channel.  :)

Then in the evening I ran to go grocery shopping, before coming home to enjoy the evening.

Sunday was a pretty chill day for us.  We spent some time outside, loving the warmish weather.  And, of course, we did laundry.  Because that is what we do every. single. Sunday.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that brings us to today, where we took the kiddos in for their wellness check up.

Both are as healthy as can be!

Ady weighs 17lbs, and Jack is 30lbs.

I found it funny that both of my kids are exactly the weight.  No .2 or .3...just 17.0 lbs.

I find the funniest things entertaining.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you celebrate half birthdays?  I do, I know I am weird.

But, both of my kiddos celebrated half birthdays over the weekend. Jack is 1.5 years old and Ady is .5 years old.  :)

We got Jackers a basketball hoop.  Which he loves!  (Ady got her ears pierced, in case you were wondering what we got her)

Especially when Uncle Timmy shoots hoops with him.

Z and the Teenager played "knee ball" while Jack was giggling away.  Watching them get rug burn.  He was probably thinking, "when will they ever learn?".

I will post some pics and videos of the basketball hoop soon.  I used a different camera, and need to find the cord.  :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's all for now.  Hope you enjoy reading about my super exciting life!

9 Month Well-Ness Check

Last Monday we had Jackson's 9 month well-ness check, and it went GREAT. We have a very healthy little boy!

He weighs 24 lbs, and is 29.25 inches long. Both of these measurement place him in the 90th percentile.

We didn't really have any concerns, and neither did the doctor. He is perfect!

See you in three months Dr. Laureijs.

6 Month Well-Baby Check

Jackers had his 6 month check up this afternoon, and everything went pretty well. He was not a big fan of the shots, but who really is. He only cried for a couple of minutes, and then Mommy calmed him down. He weighed 20.8 lbs, his height is 27.25 inches, and his head circumference is 44.5 cm. He is in the 85% for his weight and 65% for his height. He is quite a big baby, but I was actually surprised that he didn't gain more weight. I am used to a 3lb per month weight gain (average), but Jack only gained about 3 lbs in two months. Which is totally fine because he is a big baby, but I was just surprised. Well, our big boy is napping and I have to go get ready for Amy's wedding to night. It should be a lot of fun!

4 Month Well-Ness Check

Jackson had his 4 month well-ness check today. I am constantly amazed at how much he is growing! "Little" man weights 17lbs 2oz, and is 25.25 inches long.

He did pretty well with his shots, better than last time, so I was pretty happy about that. Once he hits that crinkly paper though he is a little panicked. Hopefully by 6 months he will have forgotten and will be his usual happy self.

Jack is so close to rolling over, but hasn't quite gotten it. Sometimes I look down and I think "oh, he is going to do it!", but he is just teasing me. Once he realizes that I am looking he rolls to his back and starts laughing at me. Oh well, he will get it eventually.

Two Month Well-Baby Check

Jackson is two months old today, I can not believe how time flies. He is growing great! This afternoon we had his two month well-baby check up, and everything looks good. He is now 12.4 lbs (60th percentile), 22 inches long (average), and his head measures 39 cm. Unfortunately, this appointment brought three shots :(. Jack was not a huge fan of this, but what baby is. The nurses did the first two at the same time, but the third one was all on his own. We gave him some Tylenol, and he has pretty much been sleeping ever since. He is such a good baby. Normally we would have spent the day taking pictures, and getting new foot prints for his book.....but, Jack is just not in the mood. I don't blame the poor kid, I would not want to be cute in pictures either. We will get pictures soon. But, for now.....here is the list of Jackson's 10 favorite things.

Two Months

1. Staring at my friends on my mobile.
2. Sitting in my bumbo chair.
3. Taking naps on Mommy.
4. Giggling in the middle of the night when I get my diaper changed.
5. Smiling at my silly Mommy and Daddy.
6. Being propped up on my Boppy pillow so I can sit up like a big boy.
7. Getting a massage after my baths.
8. Watching "boy" shows with my Daddy.
9. Staring at bright lights.
10. Getting Tylenol after my shots, they hurt!

One Month Wellness Check

Jackson had his One Month Well-Baby Check Up today. I can not believe how much my little baby has grown! His weight at 1.5 weeks was 7 lbs 1 oz, and now (3.5 weeks) he is 9 lbs 2 oz. No wonder the little bugger has been eating ALL the time. Everything else looked great, and we go back on Jan. 15th. I am not looking forward to this appointment, the poor baby gets his shots.

Very hot apartment!

Jackson had yet another jaundice test this morning at the DeWitt hospital...but, we have some good news! The level moved from a 15 to a 12 in the last couple of days, so hopefully that means that it is finally out of his system. Dr. Laureijs said that unless he seems more yellow we do not have to have another check up; he will make sure everything is alright at our next appointment on the 9th. I have been trying to make sure that he gets a little sun light during the day, but he is not particular fond of hanging out in his diaper unless the apartment is cranked to about 80 degrees. WAY TO HOT FOR MOM!

Two Week Well-Baby Check Up

Jackson got to meet his doctor this afternoon. He weighs 7 lbs and is 20 inches long. Everything looked good as far as his two week well-baby check up, but Dr. Laureijs wanted to double check his bilirubin levels. So, we went back over to the DeWitt hospital (we called Grandma to help us because Zach had to work this afternoon) for a check, and Jackson's level was 15.4. This is higher than his last check, but still within a decent range. We have the biliblanket for another day, so Jack will spend one final night in that annoying light. He has another bilirubin check on Friday. I had to get a check x-ray to make sure I do not have a collapsed lung. I mentioned to Dr. Laureijs that I can not lay on my left side without pain in my chest. He could not hear anything when he listened to my lungs, so he decided to order the x-ray. He said that because Jack was pushing on my lungs (and MANY other organs) for nine months it could have easily created this problem. I should find out tomorrow what exactly is going on, so we shall see. Jack got to meet his Great-Aunt Chanda this evening, she is home from Denver for Thanksgiving and her birthday.
