Independence Day

Today is the 4th of July, Independence Day.  The day we celebrate our country, our freedoms, our "American way of life".

We have an exciting day planned, in fact, we are headed to the parade in just a few minutes.

Thank you to every one serving our country.  You do not get enough thanks, but I want you to know....my family and I truly appreciate your service.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful 4th!

Happy Veterans Day!

I just want to thank each and EVERY person who has served, currently serving, will serve our great country.

You make this country great, and I am thankful each.and.everyday. for the freedoms my family and I have today.

I am proud to be an American.  I am proud of this country.  I am proud of our men and women in uniform.  ....and I am proud that I have been singing this song by Lee Greenwood:

If tomorrow all the things were gone I’d worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American where as least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,
From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA,
Well, there’s pride in every American heart,
and it’s time to stand and say:
I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A

Happy Veterans Day.

Chicago Bears

Remember the other day when I mentioned I was going to try and fit a "photo shoot" in with my kiddos?

Well, I was able to snap a few pictures.  Do you know how hard it is to get two babies.....21 months and 9 months, to sit still long enough to get a good picture?  I think that task is nearly impossible.  And, if you can do it (without using photoshop!) let me know and I will let you photograph my kids.   :)  They really are cute subjects, no?

Man.  I love my kids more and more every. single. day.  They are truly my world, and have brought so much joy and meaning to my life.  I hope you enjoy seeing their smiling faces as much as I do!  :)

PS - Sorry some of the photos are cut off.  I didn't want to go back in a adjust each one, so you will just have to deal with it.  :)  What can I say, I am lazy.  ;o)

Daily Life

Happy Mother's Day! Sorry I am a day late, life is crazy busy around here. :) Did you have a wonderful day?

Mother's Day for me was perfect! I couldn't have asked for a better day. Well, I could....but, that would be askin' a lot.

My babies got me a mother and child ring and necklace, and I love it! I have been wearing the ring since the day I got it, and am anxiously awaking an occasion to wear the necklace. :)
Z made me muffins for breakfast, changed almost all the diapers, and spent more time watching the children (alone) than he normally does.

What would have made it better is if someones nearly 18 month old baby boy would say MAMA! Can you tell I am a little bitter about this? Ugh! Lol. He better say Mama next year. Silly little boy.

Then, after the kiddos were in bed. Z and I went outside to enjoy a cigar. Well, he enjoyed it. I just smoked one to show him I could. It wasn't my favorite thing in the world, but a million times better than cigarettes. YUCK!

I used to smoke those in my late teens, and they are just nasty. Don't know why I did it.

I do, occasionally, miss it, like when I have some sort of alcoholic beverage...but, not enough to jeopardize my health or my families health for it. Blah!

Today is my wonderful husbands birthday! He is 25! We are creepin' up there. Haha.

The kiddos and I got him a new t.v. for his birthday....mostly because his wish for father's day is to lay in his bed and watch t.v. all day. Haha. It probably won't be all day, but he can at least spend the morning cuddled up with a blanket with a remote in his hand. ;o)He is also starting to get into cigars, thanks to a couple men in our lives (thanks guys!). So, I am thinking of getting him something cigar related for Father's Day. Who knows. I hate buying him gifts. Everything he wants is so expensive!

Did you know the U.S.S. Reagan only has to be refueled once every 50 years. I found that very interesting. When the kiddos are awake during the day I try to watch something educational (unless it is 6 o'clock, then I am watching E! News...guilty pleasure for sure), because I need the background noise. So today, it was on the History channel. You can learn a lot while feeding your almost 6 month old a bottle!

Well, I have babbled on long enough. And I am sure you are REALLY bored. Haha. If you made it through this post, you are a saint!

Happy Anniversary!

On Saturday, Z and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary!

First of all, I can't believe it has been two years. Time flies.

And secondly, I am so lucky! I couldn't ask for more. I married my best friend (sorry Britt, you are my best "girl" friend!), and a wonderful father, husband, and human being.

We went though some difficult times during the "dating" phase of our relationship, and I am beyond glad that we were able to overcome all the challenges presented to us during this period of time.

Zach is truly the love of my life. He is the only person, in the universe, for me!

This is us, around the time we got engaged. Approximately 2 months before we got married. :)

Happy Anniversary honey! I love you to the moon and back! ;o)

Groundhogs Day

How in the world did this become a holiday? Seriously, what is the point (sorry if you are a Groundhog day lover!)? This little groundhog doesn't, really, let you know how much more winter we will expect.

I recently heard that PETA is now looking out for little Punxsutawney Phil. They believe that the groundhog should be a robot, in order to save Mr. Phil any trauma from G-Day festivities. Seriously, I think this is dumb. I am sure this little groundhog (I mean, he has a name for goodness sake) is treated better than any other groundhog in the world.....they already saved him from being run over by a truck, isn't that enough?

Again, sorry if you love Groundhogs Day (not the movie, I have nothing against the movie!). Me, well....I just don't see the point.

Does anyone else not get the point of Groundhogs day? Or are any of in full support of Groundhogs day (feel free to put me in my place, haha)?

PS - Don't forget to enter my giveaway!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I am hoping that 2010 will be a year full of happiness, love, fun, and exciting new developments ;o).

Later today....you know after I have slept off the celebratory champagne....I will be posting my goals for 2010.

Do you have any goals for 2010? What are they? Care to share with the rest of the class, haha?

P.S. - If you love the image shown above you can find it here.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! I hope you and your family had a wonderful day ;o) Here is what the Overy family did =):

On Christmas Eve we attended the Christmas service at our church at 10 pm...with the little ones outfitted in their jammies. Here is Jackson in his new jammies, I didn't even think of taking a picture on Christmas Eve...but here is my little one on Christmas morning.
And here is Ady's jammies....you can't see them very well, but what can you do? Do you like the hat? It's from Etzy!
When we got home from the church service we set out Santa's plate of cookies! I hope he liked them, ;o)!
We exchanged ornaments on Christmas morning. Mommy and Daddy buy for each of the little ones and each other. We added a Chicago Bears (why Z likes them is beyond me...they are a horrible team, lol. Sorry if you are a Bears fan =D), Handy Manny, a cooking reindeer, a sweet pea, and a J and an M ornaments.

Here are my wonderful Christmas presents! Aren't they cute?

But actually here is one of my favorite Christmas presents....Reebok EasyTone shoes. Thanks honey! He swears that it wasn't his way of telling me I need to lose weight ;o).

Here is Jackers right away on Christmas morning. Could he be more excited?
After all the Christmas festivities what do we do? Play with toys of course! ;o)

And this is what my house looks like when we are ALL done. Messy, eh?

How was your Christmas? Hope all is well....can't wait until New Years!
