He Did It!

Today, my precious little baby boy (Eli) rolled over for the first time!

Hubs and I were cleaning up the living room, and he was on his activity mat....and the next thing we knew he was on his belly.  :)

I, unfortunately, haven't caught him in action.....but I will try to this week!

Here is my sweet little guy right after he rolled to his belly for the first time!  :)

A Milestone Has Been Reached!

Last week my darling little lady mastered the art of walking.  :)

Oh, and PS....sorry about all the toys strewn about.  Well, I guess I shouldn't apologize....this is what my house look like 90% of the time.

Hope you are having a great day!  What accomplishments have your kiddos been up to lately?

Toddler/Baby Firsts

Yesterday was a big day for Jack.  Well, it was a big day for both of my children.

But, we will start with Jackers.

He actually ate oranges yesterday when they were offered to him.  Before he would put them in his mouth, and promptly spit them out, but yesterday was different.  It is like he couldn't get enough.  He ate three containers oranges!  It was unreal.  I couldn't believe it.  What a big boy.

Now my little Ms. Ady.  She has learned to say ""dada".  And says it ALL the time.  I told Z this morning that he needed to go get her because she was calling for him, and not Mama.  Haha.

I swear, my kids are against me.  They will probably never call me Mama, I will just be known as Dada.  It's terrible, and I can not wait for the day when they can run to me screaming "MAMA!!!".

It's what keeps me going, lol.

What new things have your little ones done recently?

I can't believe how quickly they grow.  I probably sound like a broken record with this one, because I say it all the time.  But it is true.  Time flies.

SO BIG!

As many of you know, we have been trying to put Ady to bed in her own crib....in the kids' room. (Have no idea what I am talking about? You are missing out, follow me on Twitter @jenniferovery) But, it has not been going so well.

I was hesitant to even try because I would absolutely hate to have both kiddos up in the middle of the night, but Ady has been sleeping so well we thought we would give it a try Tuesday night.

Tuesday = HUGE FAILURE. Ady cried the whole time, and kept waking Jackers up. So, she got her way and slept in our bedroom (in a pack n' play).

Wednesday = A little better. We got both of the kids asleep, but Ms. Ady woke up around 11. We laid her down in her pack n' play, and she slept through the night.

Thursday = Perfect! Or so we thought. We got both of the kids asleep, with NO ISSUES! But, at 2:15am Ady woke up....for no reason. I rocked her, changed her diaper, gave her a bottle, and she drifted off to sleep around 3:30am. But, she was up again at 5:30am and 6:30am.

This Mama is tired.

I am not sure I have the energy to try it again tonight, but we will have to see. Do any of you have any tricks for getting a 5 month old to sleep through the night? She sleeps fabulously, by herself, in our bedroom...but, not in her bedroom.

Moving on.....

Jack is usually the shy, silent type. But, we have been trying to encourage his speech as much as possible. He will sign more (which also means please....be careful when you are teaching this to your kiddos :)) all day long, but rarely says anything other than "da". Well, he babbles....but, I have no clue as to what he is saying.

So, today. Instead of just giving him a goldfish cracker. I made him say cracker. He whined for about 20 minutes about not getting the cracker easily....but then he said it! YEAH! Go Jackers :). Cracker is a more difficult word than Mama, right? Hmm....stubborn, eh, sweet, little boy!

I am sorry about the video. It was shot with my phone, and I didn't even think to rotate the phone. Oh well...you get the idea. I am so proud of my little baby boy!

In other Jacker's news. He is officially off the bottle! It has been 9 days since his last bottle, and he seems to be doing fine.

I am a little concerned that he isn't getting enough calcium...because he really dislikes drinking milk from a sippy cup (or regular cup). But, I have been upping his cheese/yogurt intake to hopefully compensate for the decrease in milk consumption. It will all work out in the end, any maybe I will eventually get him to drink milk out of a sippy.

Well, that's what new in my life as a SAHM. What about you?

Walking!

Here is a video of Jackson walking! Can you believe how big he is???

New Baby!

Sorry it has been an ETERNITY since I last posted. Things are crazy around here, and have no signs of slowing down until after the holidays.

On Monday, Nov. 16th (one day after my little Jack turned 1!) our beautiful baby girl, Madelyn Grace, was born. She is perfect, and we couldn't ask for a better little family. She was 7lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long. Her big brother isn't quite sure what to think of her, but I am sure they will be best buds in a little while ;o)

Here are pictures from the day after Madelyn was born. Just go to Bella Baby Photography, click View Photos, and enter the password: 1116madelynovery

We celebrated Jack's birthday on Sunday (the 15th) with a lunch at Happy Joe's and a small get together in the evening with cupcakes and ice cream. His "big" birthday party is on Dec. 5th, and I have a lot to do to get ready for it. I can not believe that he is one! My baby boy isn't much of a baby anymore :(

Jacker's started walking last Thursday, and got his forth tooth last Wednesday. He wanted to keep a little bit of the spot light on him. ;o) Haha, our children are such a joy and we couldn't imagine our lives without them.

The other night Zach asked Madelyn, "So, what finger do you have me wrapped around?" It was the cutest thing in the world! He is the best daddy ever! He is such a big help, and I couldn't do it without him.

Sorry for the lack of updates, if you want to know everything that is going on with me....feel free to add me on facebook. Here is the link. Oh, and don't worry, I have more pictures to post soon!

Hope all is well with you, and I hope to be posting again regularly soon.

Teeth!

You can see his little teeth (if you click the picture, you can see them better)! He has two now, he got the first one on Sept. 2nd and the second on Sept. 11th.

My little one had a busy week...believe me growing teeth is hard work (not only for baby, haha)!

Updated Video

This is Jackson's frustrated face. Haha. He is too cute, you can also hear him "talking". The only words that he says, which are clear to the human ear....haha, are: da da, hi, yeah, and we could have sworn that he said the word lips...but, it could have been wishful thinking. ;o)

Life Update

I have been told that I need to update this blog (wonder who that could be?).

Baby Jacker's officially has his first tooth!  It finally broke through on September 2nd.  He was working so hard on that stinkin' tooth, I am not looking forward to the others.  Jack now pulls himself up on EVERYTHING, and is starting to let go and stand on his own for a few seconds.  He is definitely a big boy, and will be walking before we know it (and probably before we would like him to).  Haha.  He is such a good little boy, we got lucky.

Right now, Jackson and I are working on getting over our colds.  Gotta tell ya that it is no fun!  We have runny noses, coughs, and I am starting to lose my voice.  We have also had a slight fever, but a couple doses of Tylenol seemed to clear that up.

Yesterday I had an appointment for Baby #2 with Pam.  I have gained 25 lbs so far, yuck :(.....but, the baby is looking great.  Measuring about 30 cm, with a heart beat of 156 bpm.

So, that's all that is really new in our lives!  What about yours?

Tattoo?

Last Sunday, Baby Jackson got his first tattoo!

We just couldn't resist putting on a temporary tattoo with his new "muscle" shirt. ;o)

But....even a tough guy with a tattoo likes to help Mommy with the laundry.

Baby + Juice = LOVE!

Yesterday Jackson had a little bathroom problem (it had been about two days), so I tried to come up with some "home" remedies. I read on-line to give them about a tablespoon of dark corn syrup, so I did. I also gave baby Jackson a little bit of juice. He loved juice. He goes crazy for juice. LOL. Normally he lets a little formula drip out of the side of his mouth when drinking a "ba", but not with the juice. I don't think he realized that the juice was only to help relieve his problem. Juice isn't for every day of the week. If he is grumpy the next time you see him, you will know why. ;o)

Starting New Foods

A couple of days ago my Dad thought that it was time for Jackson to start eating "real" food. Lol, he was like...."I started eating mashed potatoes at 2 weeks, he can start at 2 months." I am not one to object too much, because I would love for Jackson to sleep through an entire night. So, we tried a little baby rice cereal (as you can see above). He wasn't the biggest fan of eating the cereal from a spoon, but I remember reading in Jon and Kate Gosselin's book, "Multiple Blessings", that you can mix formula and baby rice cereal. This allows the babies to drink this slightly thicker mixture, and makes the baby remain full for a longer period of time. I am going to give this a try tonight, and I will let you know how it goes.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Mommy left Baby for the first time :( Zach and I went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra tonight, and overall I was impressed with how well I did leaving my baby. I was not concerned about Jackson, I knew that he would be fine (we left him with my parents)....but I missed my baby. We were gone for about six hours, and I was dying at the end to see my little peanut. I shook my hand and told Zach that I was going through withdrawals, lol. TSO was great! We both really enjoyed ourselves, and I think that Zach would love to go again next year.

Meet Santa Claus

Baby Jackson met Santa Claus today! Unfortunately, the poor baby slept through the whole thing. We could not find Santa at first, so we walked the entire mall before we found the "old man". We got some pretty good pictures!

Great-Great Grandma

Great-Great Grandma Lehne got to meet Jackson this afternoon with Grandma. She thinks he is so cute, and loves telling the story of his birth. I am glad that she was able to meet him, and hang out a bit with him.

New Friends!

This morning Jackson got to meet Lauren, Rye Tyler, and Evelyn Frobish. He was a pretty good baby, but hungry (which he is constantly). He is quite the growing boy! This afternoon we took a little nap, and then hung out with Daddy. Jack loves cuddling up with Daddy in the chair and watching movies, and sometimes even football (if the Bears are winning).

More Visitors

Aww...my baby's first snow! We were so excited to wake up to a couple of inches of snow on the ground. I was a little disappointed that Jack was not able to go out and play in the snow, but next year he will have a BLAST! Today, Jackson got to meet: Lauren Jerew, and Lisa Hudson. He is very excited to meet all his new friends and family!

I love days like this!

Our first day where we actually got to stay home! Yea!!! I was so ready to have a relaxing day at home for the first time in about two weeks. Jack and Daddy even let me sleep in a little bit....I love those boys ;o) Tomorrow we have a doctor's appointment, and Daddy has to work...so, it will be a bit more eventful!

Church

Today was Jackson's first trip to church. He was great, and everyone thought that he was adorable! Steve Walswick said that Jack looks more like Zach....everyone says something different and they say it is because Zach and I look so much alike. He is just a great combination of both of us. Above are a few pictures of my little baby....I can not believe how much he has grown.

Meeting the Extended Family!

Jackson got to meet The Dodd family! Then we went over to Grandma Tammy's for dinner. Here, Jack got to meet his cousins and Aunt and Uncle. He was a great little boy with all those other guys running around.
