I am not sure if I could deal with that, so you are a stronger woman than I.

Your word, well your Pastor's words, are very true. And I will definitely have to think on those. It is always good (great) to leave things up to God and not rely on someone else for closure (or whatever the issue might be).

I look forward to reading your blog after the first of the year. And thank you again for your kind words.

JennJenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07313138645738452181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8163032528492745946.post-75997138892093788472009-12-23T11:44:25.560-06:002009-12-23T11:44:25.560-06:00HI Jenn!

Some people have horrid lives and end up doing extraordinarily well and others have good lives and end up off the deep end (how's that for mixing metaphors?)!

Anyway, here's my one comment and you can take it or leave it or ponder it for later:

I've spent the last two years fighting deamons of fear - crazy things like my son someday getting eaten by an aligator (!) and normal things like failing a writing assignment for my grad degree. I had a huge emotional event this summer, my cousin (who I was a guardian for) died and I was the one who had to turn off life support. I was angry - ANGRY - at my aunt, my uncle and everyone else involved. My Pastor told me something I had known in my head for a long time but hadn't felt: "You don't do the heavy things like forgiving, God does. You let Him do those things for you. You don't do them yourself. He works through you. You don't have to do it yourself."

When you commented about wanting your sister to apologize I thought of my comments to my Pastor of wanting my aunt to apologize. (Long story and I hope to have my blog up 'to the public' by Jan 1 so you can read it sometime.)

I said the same thing to my Pastor and he responded with his words above. I'm not sure what about them just clicked but my life has compeltely changed. Seriously. Life is much easier. I've lost 5 pounds. Completed 2 incompletes for school. Finished my last class for my PhD (whoo hoo!). Cleaned out 9 boxes, 2 baskets, 3 bookcases, several random piles and a closet in my house. Not to mention the stress and tension I have carried with me for the last two years that had been escalating is now GONE.

You mentioned church so I'm assuming you're Christian and it might be something to think about!

Thanks for sharing your story!
God Bless,
LeaLeahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03384475081085015883noreply@blogger.com
